Meet the team: Mario

26 Jul

Pitfield London’s Store Manager, Mario Siebert (Super Mario!), may have only been with us for a couple of months but is certainly making his mark. So far, he’s very proud of joining the Pitfield team but has already had his fair share of embarrassing moments with us. The worst of all? Having to search a guy’s bag because he had stolen a vintage piece. Hats off to CCTV.

A fiery Leo (we think he’s pretty calm really), Mario’s favourite band is The Fall – but he’s open to in-store requests! He has a number of favourite designers, all are architects who have designed furniture: Alvar Aalto, George Nelson and Egon Eiermann. For Mario, the best thing about working here is that he’s surrounded by gorgeous nicknacks every day. Although, he says the temptation of this is the worst thing too…

In the future, he wants to own his own shop like Pitfield (just like Caitlin) but we’re holding onto him for a while yet, thanks.

Meet the team: Robyn

4 Jul

Second to be grilled for the Pitfield London blog is our weekend Sales Assistant, Robyn Eleanor Josie (granny) Davis, otherwise known as Ratty. Her role is to explain what all our fabulous different brushes are for (amongst other things we hope).

Robyn was born in Ealing, is a Taurus, says 23 is her lucky number and lists black as her favourite colour (at the moment)! Throughout the week, Robyn studies Public Relations at London College of Communication. Her dream is to work in advertising… Just as long as she doesn’t leave Pitfield altogether! Music wise, she’ll listen to anything, and food wise, it’s all about calamari!

Robs has been lucky enough to escape an embarrassing moment at Pitfield London so far (though we’re sure we can think of a couple…). She divulges that the tempting, yummy food in our cafe is the best and the worst thing about working here.

Next time you’re on Pitfield St, pop in and say hello.

Meet the team: Caitlin

25 May

Here at Pitfield London, we LOVE our customers. We want you to love us too so we thought we’d bring you a new ‘Meet the team’ feature for a humorous insight into our lives…

First up – Assistant Manager, Caitlin Macrae, is a Sagittarius who was born in Hertfordshire and studied at the University of Plymouth. Caitlin loves the colour green, photography (she’s a BA Photography graduate and still an avid snapper) and likes chilling out to old soul music – hence the great tunes always playing in store! Her role involves helping customers buy our lovely, quirky items but she sometimes hates the fact she gets a sneak peak of everything as she just wants to buy things all of the time. We better watch out because her future goal is to open her very own curiosity shop and café! Want a giggle? Caitlin’s most embarrassing moment at Pitfield London was falling over a chair at the private view of our Nic Parnell exhibition! Oops.
